Division of Research, Development
and Knowledge Transfer

Basic information

The Division of Research, Development and Knowledge Transfer consists of two departments (the Department of Research and Development and the Department of Knowledge Transfer and Contract Research) and is managed by the Vice-Rector for Creative Activities and Doctoral Studies.  In addition to performing the duties of the Vice-Rector for Creative Activities and Doctoral Studies, it performs the following activities:

  • it is responsible for preparing applications and allocating subsidies for specific university research and subsidies for the long-term conceptual development of the research organization for the purposes of creating the UWB budget,
  • it administers the UWB Grant System, including the UWB Incentive System.
  • it conducts the habilitation procedure and the procedure for the appointment of professors from the position of UWB,
  • it manages the agenda of the UWB Scientific Council,
  • it organizes the assessment of the quality of creative activities,
  • it processes statistical reports in the field of research and development

Several scientific journals are published at UWB. The scientific journals published at the University of West Bohemia are available in the Digital Library.

The results of R&D&I are analyzed both at the national level and within UWB, including comparisons with other countries. R&D&I results can be found on the website of the Council for Research, Development and Innovation.
