Priority Areas:

  • A – Establishment and development of volunteer centres and activities within healthcare facilities
  • B – Improving accessibility and usability of healthcare services by addressing specific needs of persons with sensory, mental, or severe mobility disabilities
  • C – Development of informational materials, educational activities (including in-person courses and training), and awareness-raising activities in the field of disability and chronic illness
  • D – Support for rehabilitation centres specialized in specific disability groups (excluding hippotherapy)
  • E – Support for domestic rehabilitation and educational stays

Program for Supporting Applied Health Research (2024–2030)

Main Goal:
 To contribute to the improvement of population health in the Czech Republic, both in the medium- and long-term, by generating new knowledge that advances diagnostics, treatment, and prevention for common, rare, and emerging diseases. The aim is also to raise the Czech healthcare research standard to match developed EU countries.

Focus Areas (3 Main Areas, 21 Sub-Areas, 43 Objectives):

  1. Disease origin and development
  2. New diagnostic and therapeutic methods
  3. Epidemiology and prevention of serious diseases

Program Design:

  • Total budget (2020–2026): CZK 6.05 billion
  • CZK 5.5 billion from the state budget for R&D
  • 4 public calls for proposals (first in 2019, support from 2020 onwards)
  • Two subprograms:
    • Subprogram 1 – General
    • Subprogram 2 – Targeted at young researchers (under 35 years)
