Operational Programme Jan Amos Komenský (OP JAK)
The structure of the Operational Programme Jan Amos Komenský (OP JAK) reflects the priority areas funded by the European Union’s structural funds for the 2021–2027 programming period, as well as the experience from previous operational programmes managed by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
The total allocation for OP JAK (2021–2027) amounts to CZK 84 billion.
OP JAK Priorities:
Priority 1 – Research and Development
(focused on Policy Objective 1 – A smarter Europe through the promotion of innovative and smart economic transformation):
- Strengthening strategic intelligence and competencies for RDI (Research, Development, and Innovation) policy management and support of innovation ecosystems at national and regional levels
- Enhancing internationalisation and developing the institutional environment of research organisations, as well as strengthening top research teams
- Promoting collaboration between research organisations and the application sector, improving the applicability of RDI results, and fostering a stronger orientation of research activities toward areas with high practical application potential
Priority 2 – Education
(focused on Policy Objective 4 – A more social Europe by implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights):
- Modernising educational objectives and content, including teaching methods and forms across all levels of the education system
- Making the teaching profession more attractive by improving initial teacher training, supporting novice teachers, and promoting their continuous education and professional development
- Ensuring fair access to quality education and reducing segregation, inequality, and the risk of exclusion for vulnerable groups
- key infrastructures needed for cutting-edge research.
