CESNET Development Fund (CESNET, z.s.p.o.)

CESNET is an association of Czech universities and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. It operates and develops the national e-infrastructure for science, research, and education, which includes a computer network, computing grids, data storage, collaboration environments, and offers a wide range of services.

The CESNET Development Fund Council, in accordance with Article B, Paragraph 2 of the Rules for the Management of the CESNET Development Fund, announces calls for development projects designed to support the association’s research and development activities in line with its approved strategic concept.

For the year 2023, financial support for development projects may be granted in the following thematic areas:

Area I

Title: Support for the research and development activities of the association in accordance with its approved strategic concept

Thematic focus:

  • Use and development of CESNET e-infrastructure services and modern ICT in:
  • teaching and education processes,
  • creative and scientific research activities,
  • administration of public universities and the Czech Academy of Sciences.
  • Advanced applications utilizing the CESNET e-infrastructure

In both sub-areas A and B, the funding may also cover educational courses (with participation documented by a certificate) related to the project topic.

It is recommended to consult the project's concept and technical feasibility with the relevant CESNET department at least 5 days before the submission deadline. In such cases, please attach a statement from the head of the department or their representative.

Projects are primarily intended for the Information and Computing Technology Centre (CIV).

Call frequency: twice a year
