International Project Support Network at UWB
International Project Support Network at UWB is an informal group composed of representatives from all faculties and other key departments of the University of West Bohemia. Established in March 2024, the Network aims to systematize the various levels of UWB support services related to international projects, with a particular focus on the European funding landscape. Its core mission is to strengthen UWB’s participation in international research by establishing efficient, high-quality support services easily accessible to all staff. The Network formalizes the previously undefined intermediate level of project support within individual faculties and departments, bridging the gap between research teams and the central project services at UWB. It operates based on a clearly defined multi-level structure of responsibilities, ensuring coordinated and effective support across the university.
A key function of the Network is to facilitate two-way information flow and knowledge sharing between UWB faculties and departments and the central Project Centre. It also aims to enhance collaboration with research teams, improve project management processes, and boost the overall impact of project support services at all institutional levels.
Through the Network’s activities, the vertical sharing of know-how is reinforced – from the central level of strategic planning, expert guidance, and methodological support, through the intermediate level of support provided within individual faculties / departments, down to the operational level of day-to-day project management. At the same time, the Network fosters more intensive horizontal cooperation and the exchange of experience across the entire institution.
Key activities of the Network:
- two-tier consultation system for international projects
- Continuous information sharing between the individual faculties / departments and the UWB Project Centre (including ad hoc updates and the use of the MS Teams communication platform)
- pravidelné newslettery distribuované prostřednictvím zastoupení součástí v Síti,
- Regular newsletters disseminated via designated network representatives
- Semi-annual coordination and discussion meetings
- On-demand training and information sessions provided by the Project Centre
- Strategic guidance and project support provided by the Project Centre to individual faculties / departments
